I have decided to write a blog post once a month with my goals. These are obviously a very different style from what my posts are usually, but I want to keep track of these stats to look back on later. In February, I didn’t even know if my writing would take off. And, it wasn’t until late April that I created my Instagram account. So, the outcomes below have been mind-boggling and 100% God-given.
May Goals:
Word Count: 25,000 (for a total of 50,000)
Instagram Followers: reach 200*
May Outcomes:
Word Count: 50,943
Instagram Followers: 253
As you can see, I accomplished my goals for May. I did learn a few things about these goals that will change my goals for June.
Word Count:
First of all, 25,000 words in one month are completely possible, but also hard to do. I really had to push to reach that, and it made the process less enjoyable overall. Looking back, it’s not necessary to push that hard, especially since I have four months left to my September 30th completion goal. I don’t need to write a quarter of my book in one month! It was fun to prove to myself that I could do it though, with a lot of work and a whole lot of determination.
Instagram Followers:
I was completely blown away last night when I saw that my concluding number for May was 253 followers. Do you remember just a few weeks ago I was frustrated with sitting at 192? The extra sixty followers was a whole lot of God’s grace. Sure, I put in the work, but I had been putting in the work, and I was stagnant until I wrote the blog post about letting it all go.
*My original goal for May was 100 followers, but I hit that within a few days of May, so I upped the goal to 200.
With these outcomes, I am adjusting my totals, especially since there will be one third of June that I probably won’t get any time to write because of visiting family and vacations.
June Goals:
Word Count: 15,000 (for a total of 65,943)
Instagram Followers: 400
